Making wine approachable and fun, one episode at a time

Wet Hot Wine began with a sunny day in wine country, a few bottles, and a conversation that kept getting funnier. After years of hosting at-home tastings with friends, we finally said, “Let’s make this a podcast,” and somehow it became real.

Our goal is to take the pressure out of wine and bring the joy back in. No snobbery. No intimidation. Just trying new things, asking real questions, and enjoying the experience.

Each episode is our version of a wine night with friends, old and new. Open bottles, honest reactions, lots of laughter.

Pour yourself a glass and join us in the chaos.

Get to Know the Ladies of Wet Hot Wine

Meet Brit Wiinikka

Growing up in Oregon wine country, Brit’s love for wine started long before the podcast. It’s no surprise she naturally gravitates toward a good Pinot Noir or Chardonnay — it’s basically in her DNA.

Brit studied at Oregon State before owning her own salon for several years. She eventually shifted her focus to being a mom to her two young daughters and has become passionate about educating others about Type 1 Diabetes after her oldest’s diagnosis.

Brit brings all the style and energy to the Wet Hot Wine podcast. She keeps us up to date on every trend and serves as our resident hype woman, showing up with the kind of vibe that makes you want to pour another glass.

Meet Chelsea Fraering

Chelsea is originally from McAllen, Texas along the U.S.–Mexico border and is now a working mom who’s intentional about how she spends her time. She’ll tell you she’s in her most stable, self-assured era yet — and honestly, she might knit herself a trophy to celebrate.

She started liking wine in her late twenties simply because it beat beer and liquor, but her curiosity really took off once she started winery hopping with us. As the self-proclaimed “newbie,” she’s the one asking the questions everyone else is too embarrassed to ask — and we adore her for it. She’s also the one who suggested we start this podcast, so you can thank Chelsea for all of this.

Persistently curious and always ready to dive into something new, she reminds all of us that you don’t have to be an expert to love wine…you just have to be willing to try.

Meet Shannon Miller

Born and raised in Texas, Shannon has spent much of her adult life between there and the Pacific Northwest. She works in marketing and web design, has two school-aged kids, a husband who keeps her ideas grounded, and a dog who fully embraces chaos.

Her love of wine really clicked during an anniversary trip to Oregon wine country, where she realized she might love wine *almost* as much as her husband. As someone who loves growing food, hearing winemakers talk about the ups and downs of each season felt instantly relatable.

Shannon loves saying yes to new things, being a little bit silly, and genuinely enjoys getting to know people. So when the idea for Wet Hot Wine was thrown out, she immediately did everything she could to make it happen.

Meet Stephanie Barnes

Stephanie grew up in Walla Walla, WA as its wine scene was taking off, basically coming of age alongside the wineries. Now she’s juggling work, life, and a son headed into middle school (which is a whole thing on its own).

Wine has been part of her world for as long as she can remember. Fun fact: Stephanie drinks all of the wine. She doesn’t stick to one style — her picks depend on her mood, the weather, or whether it pairs well with goat cheese.

She brings peacemaker vibes, mischievous jokes, and science rabbit holes she swears are relevant (and honestly, they usually are). Her healthcare brain can’t resist poking at the “how” behind wine, and she hopes you leave every Wet Hot Wine episode with at least one fun tidbit to showcase at parties.
